Impact Assessment of the Planning Policy Statement: Planning and Climate Change

  • Published: 8 January 2008
  • Site: Planning, building and the environment

Summary

This impact assessment (IA) assesses the costs and benefits of the new Planning Policy Statement (PPS) on Planning and Climate Change.

This new PPS, which has been issued as a supplement to Planning Policy Statement 1: Delivering Sustainable Development (PPS1), sets out how planning, in providing for the new homes, jobs and infrastructure needed by communities, should help shape places with lower carbon emissions and resilient to the climate change now accepted as inevitable.
