PPS3 Update: Cancellation of Greenfield and Density Directions

Summary

From 1 April 2007, Local Planning Authorities (LPAs) will be required to have regard to Planning Policy Statement 3: Housing (PPS3) as a material consideration. On the same day, the Town and Country Planning (Residential Development on Greenfield Land) (England) Direction 2000, and the Town and Country Planning (Residential Density) (London, South East England, South West England, East of England and Northamptonshire) Direction 2005, are cancelled. The directions which give effect to these cancellations are available below.

Government Offices will no longer have to notify the Secretary of State of planning applications that previously fell within the scope of the Directions.
